In April, we are going to be a part of an interesting blog exercise: the A-Z blog challenge. Each day, except Sundays, which we get off for good behaviour, we will be posting a theme corresponding to the letter of the alphabet for that day. For example, April 1st will require an ‘A’ topic, April 2nd, a ‘B’, etc. We’d really like as many folks as possible to drop by this site each day during that month to make sure that we’re doing our job! We promise to be as creative as we can about this, and offer postings that we probably normally wouldn't think of. It should be fun – we’re busy planning at the moment. The project certainly encourages creative thinking and the sharing of ideas! Hope to see you regularly in April. Also, we encourage you to leave us comments on any or all of our postings.
You can find out more about it at: http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/
Recently, I observed some of the human goings-on around here, and judged them as a tad, well, shall we say, over the top. It all revolved around the computer. One of my humans became quite cross at what was happening when she was working on it. Being a sensitive type, I, of course, pick up these negative emotions quite easily. Also, it must be admitted that when this particular human sits at the machine, my very favourite place in the whole world is on her nice warm lap, and her emotions, whatever they are, rain down on me.
Anyway, all this sound and fury seemed rather silly to me. After all, let us examine the relative importance of whatever the machine was doing, or not doing. That is, let us examine what is truly necessary for a good life. It’s rather simple, really, and I can’t quite understand why humans try to make it so complicated.
First (and perhaps the most important), is the F word – you know – ‘food’. I don’t mean just any food; of course, it has to be good food – both nutritious and tasty. I have a very limited tolerance for those crunchy dried pellets that come from the store.
Second, a warm and cozy bed is essential for my beauty sleep. I like a warm body to snuggle up to as well, especially in this season, so human beds are superior in this regard because they usually contain a human.
Third, I need lots of cuddles – if you ask me, laps were specifically designed for this purpose. Surely that’s why humans have them!
Now, if you think for a moment about the above priorities, you’ll realize that they’re really the same for all of us – something nice to eat, a comfortable place to sleep, and warm cuddles with those we care about. It all adds up to Love, doesn’t it? Machines just don’t matter in this scheme of things.
I actually don't enjoy writing that much! For some reason I've always had to do it though, so I shall somewhat reluctantly endure the inevitable role I must play in this. Megan is much better at it than I am - but she's too busy writing stories. For the A-Z we are both contributing to posts. All clip art used is free through Microsoft Office, and the photos used are our own.
